The Last Class, the hit documentary film—produced by the co-host of my Coffee Klatch podcast and executive director of Inequality Media Civic Action Heather Lofthouse—about my final semester of teaching continues to be shown in theaters across the country.
It’s been humbling to see how many people have come out to see it in person, in their community, in an actual theater. And, frankly, I’m a little gobsmacked that it’s being shown on screens in 47 states and in Canada! By January, it will be in all 50 states.
I hope when it comes to your area, you’ll go to see it too. But, today, we’re excited to announce a one-time-only, live screening online of the film.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re continuing to prioritize in-person screenings, as the film continues to bring people in community together during this tough time in America. People have told us they find the film inspirational, as it helps to show education’s ability to triumph over cynicism and despair.
This watchalong is a one-of-a-kind event! Literally. Because when we say it will be LIVE, we mean it!
There will be no way to rewind the film while watching, just like television was in the olden days. And when the event ends, the livestream will no longer be watchable, just like before DVDs and downloads.
I think it’s going to be fun, with live commentary and an after-film Q&A. You can bring popcorn, grab a cuppa coffee (or something harder), and enjoy the free showing of the film from the comfort of your own home.
All you need to do is sign up now, and on December 8, the day of the watchalong, we’ll send you an exclusive YouTube link to watch.
