Dear A.,
Over the weekend, the IDF carried out a

precision strike near Beirut killing Hezbollah's military chief of staff, Haytham Ali Tabatabai.
Tabatabai joined Hezbollah in the 1980s and rose through the ranks to serve as the terror group's second-in-command behind Secretary-General, Naim Qassem. The IDF
[link removed]
said that before he was eliminated, Tabatabai directly "commanded most of Hezbollah’s units and worked hard to restore them to readiness for war with Israel."
The United States was offering a

$5 million reward for information on Tabatabai, a U.S. Specially Designated Global Terrorist.

"Tabatabai is a mass murderer. His hands are soaked in the blood of many Israelis and Americans," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

said after the targeted strike.
"The policy I am leading is absolutely clear: Under my leadership, the State of Israel will not allow Hezbollah to rebuild its power, and we will not allow it to pose a threat to the State of Israel again."
Defense Minister Israel Katz
[link removed]
added , "We will continue to act forcefully to prevent any threat to the residents of the north and the state of Israel."
Asked about whether the president supports the Israeli strike, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
[link removed]
said , "Of course, the president supports Israel’s right to defend itself and to take out any terrorist threats."

The Israeli strikes follow a year of the Lebanese government and armed forces failing to stop Hezbollah's increasing violations of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement.
Following the strikes, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that the country is ready to

negotiate an agreement that would end the strikes and have Israeli soldiers pull back.
The United States must continue to increase the pressure on Lebanon to compel it to fulfill its stated commitment to fully disarm Hezbollah.

IDF takes out Hamas terrorists, as group continues to violate ceasefire
The IDF carried out a series of strikes on Hamas terrorists over the weekend, as the terror group continues to violate the ceasefire deal.
One of the strikes eliminated Alaa' Haddadeh, the Head of Hamas' supply and equipment unit.
"Haddadeh was a central source of knowledge for supply and production systems, and operated to transfer weapons from Hamas’ headquarters to battalion and field commanders," the IDF

Earlier today, the IDF

eliminated three more terrorists who crossed the Yellow Line in violation of the peace deal.
The Trump administration had made clear that it backs the retaliatory Israeli strikes, because "Israel has a policy, agreed upon with the mediators, that ceasefire violations will be met with immediate response," a

U.S. official told Axios' Barak Ravid.
Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official, Osama Hamdan, is doubling down on the terror group's violations, refusing to lay down its arms as required by President Trump's 20-point peace plan.
The United States must increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Turkey and Iran to fully comply with the agreement and release all the hostages.

U.S., Israel working on future of Gaza; civilians in need of treatment leave Strip for Jordan
As Hamas violates the agreement, America and Israel are working to improve the lives of Gazans in the Strip.
Working in conjunction with the Israelis, the United States is moving forward with

plans to build communities for Palestinians on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line, in the hopes that it will draw civilians away from the Hamas-controlled part of Gaza.
Meanwhile, today, Israel helped facilitate the evacuation of nearly 300 Gazans in need of medical treatment and their caregivers, and those with dual citizenships or visas, into Jordan and to third countries.
"Israel remains committed to working closely with its international partners to actively facilitate and support the medical evacuation of patients and caregivers," Israel's COGAT

Trump signs Executive Order on designating Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist group
Today, President Trump signed an
[link removed]
Executive Order initiating the process of designating chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs).
This important executive order follows bipartisan, bicameral support in Congress for designating the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood amounts to terrorism incorporated. The group and its extremist ideology threaten American interests, regional stability, and the security of our allies. Hamas is a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate that conducted the barbaric attack on Israel on October 7.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised Trump for the decision,
[link removed]
saying , "On this occasion, I also want to commend President @realDonaldTrump on his decision to outlaw and designate the 'Muslim Brotherhood' organization as a terrorist organization. This is an organization that endangers stability throughout the Middle East and beyond the Middle East."
We commend President Trump and his administration for taking this important step, and urge the administration and Congress to continue the vital process of designating Muslim Brotherhood affiliates and supported entities.
