Dear John,
This past Saturday, supporters gathered with us in Pittsburgh to demand freedom for the five elephants held captive at the Pittsburgh Zoo: Savanna, Tasha, Angeline, Victoria, and Zuri.
Advocates, local leaders, and longtime NhRP supporters stood together to call attention to the suffering these elephants endure. Together, we sent a clear message: what’s happening to them is unacceptable. They are legally entitled to the right to liberty and must be released to an accredited elephant sanctuary.
Whether you were able to be there in person or sent your support from afar, this momentum belongs to all of us. Watch local media coverage of our rally here.
We’ll share more updates soon about our ongoing litigation and advocacy as we continue pushing for the freedom these elephants deserve.
Thank you for being an essential part of this movement,
The NhRP
P.S. Giving Tuesday is just a week away—and we have a $25,000 match! Every gift made between now and midnight on December 2nd will be doubled. Your support directly fuels our work for the elephants in Pittsburgh and all our cases and advocacy for nonhuman animals. If you’re able, please consider making an early donation today.
