November is National Adoption Month, a time to celebrate the families built through adoption and recognize the thousands of children still waiting for permanent homes.
As a dad, I know that family isn't just about biology. It's about love, commitment, and showing up every day. Adoptive families embody that truth in the most beautiful way.
Right now, there are more than 400,000 children in foster care waiting for adoption in the United States. They deserve stable, loving homes.
But adoption can be complicated and expensive. Many families who want to adopt face financial barriers, mountains of paperwork, and long waiting periods.
We need to:
- Expand the federal adoption tax credit to help families afford adoption
- Improve support services for adoptive families
- Streamline the foster-to-adopt process
- Provide better post-adoption resources for families
To the adoptive families in Cincinnati: thank you for opening your hearts and homes. To those considering adoption: your community is here to support you.
And to the foster parents caring for kids while they wait for permanent homes: you're doing holy work, and our community sees you.
Appreciate you,
Greg 💙🙏
