Hi, John! It’s the week of Thanksgiving and we’re rounding up the things we’re thankful for. 🦃

As you make plans to gather with friends and family, we hope your travels are safe, the food is delicious, and political conversations are … better than usual. 🤷

In fact, we have some tips on that right here!

Hey, we all have those family members who are on the opposite end of the political spectrum.

But, this year, as perspectives are shifting, it might be a great time to attempt the political conversation you normally avoid. Try these strategies for healthy discussion  without ruining the day:

Huge congratulations to Tiffiney Dimery who won her bid to the Lawton City Council!

Against the odds she flipped a seat held by a Republican extremist who had harassed his own constituents while they were peacefully protesting. 

We were thrilled to work with her campaign and to co-host a Get Out the Vote door-knocking event in a precinct that moved 35 points!

Her hard work and connection with voters mattered. We believe it’s a sign of things to come in 2026! 

To date, 115 dedicated Oklahoma Democrats are contributing $26 or more, per month, to make change in our state.

Their steady, reliable support means that our staff are equipped everyday, that we can recruit and assist candidates statewide, that our voter data is up to date, and that we can target and register new Democrats in swing districts.

If you’ve been thinking about joining, we still need 885 more Donate Every Month - D.E.M. - Club members and we’d be honored to have you on the team.

We rely on hundreds of people across the state to keep our movement going. People like David Thach, who works in the ODP office every week, are often behind the scenes.

Or of course there are our many incredible canvassers winning over voters one conversation on the porch at a time!

They’re the unsung heroes who make our mission of electing more Democrats possible.

The Carter County Democrats have staged a regular Saturday protest in Ardmore for 30 weeks in a row!

This feisty bunch is raising visibility and gaining attention in their community. More quietly, they’re stocking food and personal hygiene items each week for Blessing Boxes, a local organization that supports low-income families in the area.

Across the state, Democrats are stepping up and stepping out to rebuild trust with their neighbors. We love to see it!
