Anniversary of John F. Kennedy

On November 22nd, we remember not only the tragic loss of President John F. Kennedy, but the moment America itself changed. I was just 14 years old when I shook his hand that morning in Fort Worth, Texas, and I was one of the last people to do so. Every detail of that day remains etched into my memory. He told me, “You can do this, you can be like me.” That simple moment planted the seed that eventually led me into public service.

As we honor JFK’s legacy, we remember a leader who asked not what our country could do for us, but what we could do for our country. At a time when violence and division feel too close to us, may we look at the example he left behind.

Spirit of Service

It was a great honor to receive the Sam Johnson Spirit of Service Award from the Texas State Society. Sam Johnson was not only a friend but a mentor whose dedication to country and community inspired so many of us. This award reflects the legacy of putting others first. I will continue serving our district and our nation with the same spirit that Sam embodied each day.

Operation Lone Star

Through Operation Lone Star, Texas secured our borders, apprehending over 535,000 illegal aliens and seizing hundreds of millions of lethal doses of fentanyl. As Texans, we stepped up when others would not. That responsibility came at a cost: more than $11 billion of our own taxpayer dollars. Alongside my colleagues in the Texas delegation, I signed a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, urging them to prioritize Texas when disbursing the border-security reimbursements we helped secure.

Protecting Our Energy Infrastructure

I joined more than 50 House Republicans in urging Secretary Howard Lutnick and the Department of Commerce to block the import of Chinese-made energy technologies into our grid. We raised alarm over serious national security risks: Chinese-manufactured solar and battery inverters have been found to contain “rogue” communication devices capable of bypassing firewalls, according to multiple reports.

These undocumented channels could be exploited to destabilize our electric grid. In the letter we urge the Department of Commerce to restrict these imports, protect our infrastructure, and prioritize domestic supply chains.

Standing with Our Farmers

This week, I welcomed the Texas Farm Bureau to my office in Washington, DC. I listened closely to their challenges, from regulatory burdens to rising input costs, and discussed how we can deliver real solutions in Congress. Thank you to each dedicated farmer for feeding Americans across our country!

In Case You Missed It!

I joined Fox News Report to discuss the impact of the shutdown on Main Street businesses. As a small business owner, I emphasized that while Main Street took a hit, we are resilient and ready to rebuild! I also called for one more rate cut in December, a move that could unlock tremendous opportunity and get our economy moving again.

On Newsmax’s Wake Up America, I addressed the political fallout of the shutdown. With the government reopened and conservative policies like permanent tax cuts and full expensing moving forward, we are set for a strong economic rebound.

Spoke with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business about the shutdown’s negative impact on small business and how the Working Families Tax Cuts put us on the right path. Thanks to that legislation, we secured permanent tax relief, 100% expensing, and support for community banks.
