Friend, this month, Californians overwhelmingly voted to pass Prop 50, our measure to fight back against Republicans’ brazen attempts to rig the midterm maps.
Democrats now have the chance to win up to five additional seats in the House next year — a crucial step to curbing Trump’s power and getting things done for the American people.
(Trump knows this too, which is why his DOJ is suing California to stop our new maps from going into effect.)
So now what? Well, we’re less than six weeks away from 2026, and I’m laser-focused on doing everything I can to help Democrats take back the House next year. That starts with reconnecting with our community and to the values that unite us: lowering the cost of living, expanding paths to opportunity, fighting for working families, and making government work for people — not billionaires.
If the results of this month’s elections showed us anything, it’s that voters want to support candidates who not only inspire people to turn out, but who also come up with meaningful solutions to the problems we face. If we want to win the House next year, we’ll have to elect more Democrats, and we can only do that if we’re choosing candidates who resonate with voters.
I know we can win races all over the country next year, but it’s up to us to put in the work now, chipping in for candidates we believe in, volunteering for local campaigns in our neighborhood, and talking with our friends and family about what’s at stake. All of this is necessary to reach persuadable voters and turn out people in record numbers to win big next November.
Over the next year, I’ll also have to be focused on my own re-election campaign because with these new maps, the boundaries of CA-51 (my district) have shifted, making my re-election race slightly more competitive. So I’ll be coming to you for support at key moments in my race, when it matters most.
Bottom line: Prop 50 is proof that when our democracy is on the line, voters will turn out in support of strengthening it. Now we have to meet this moment to make it happen.
Will you chip in today to help us build the grassroots power we’ll need to defend my seat, support Democrats running all over the country, and flip the House in 2026? [[link removed]]
