John,
You may have heard that the pandemic has MAJORLY slowed down voter registration as people continue to social distance. Our data bears it out. Voto Latino took part in surveying Latinos from battleground states, and the results aren’t good news. Young people aren’t excited about turning out to vote in 2020. Less than half of Latinos under 30 years old said that they plan to vote in November.
With these kind of statistics, we don’t have any time to waste. There are only about three months to reach out to every member of our Latinx community and get them registered and ready to vote. Once October is here, the deadlines for voter registration will start passing -- and we’ll run out of time to make a difference in November. So far, we’ve already registered over 200,000 people to vote. BUT -- we can only keep up the pace if we have your support.
Will you chip in now (if you can) to get us to our $30,000 FUNDRAISING GOAL so we can get our communities registered to vote?
At Voto Latino, we’ve been registering voters digitally for 16 years, so we were uniquely prepared for this unprecedented setback. But because voter registrations are SO LOW all across the country, we have to close gaps, make up ground, and reach voters in places we couldn’t have anticipated a few months ago. And we can only do it if we have generous support from you!
If you’re able, will you pitch in to our mid-month fundraising goal so we can register the voters we need to move the country forward this year?
