Hey there John, it's Carly, Digital Organizer at Sunrise.
I just got back from witnessing something beautiful in Florida. Nearly a hundred young people stood up against one of the starkest symbols of Trump’s authoritarianism: Alligator Alcatraz.
Right now, ICE is disappearing everyday people in the middle of the day, putting them into horrible detention centers without due process. It's textbook fascism. Let’s call these camps what they are: concentration camps.
Across the country, everyday people are fighting back, and we won’t stop until our friends, family, and neighbors are safely at home.
Today, 30 brave young people were arrested, as well as a journalist who was present covering the action.
We have to build a movement that is stronger than ICE, stronger than this authoritarian administration, and stronger than the hatred that drives them.
In solidarity,
Carly Schaffer
