I hope you’ve had a chance to catch your breath after the chaos in Washington these past few weeks.

Now that the shutdown is finally behind us, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to show up for the people who put their trust in you. Through all of it, I fought to get Congress back to work because working families shouldn’t pay the price for political games.

And with the passage of Prop 50, our district is about to grow. I see that as an opportunity -- a chance to bring more people into the conversation about what real representation looks like and what we’re building together.

This next stretch is important. Election experts at Sabato’s Crystal Ball still rank CA-27 as one of the most competitive districts in the nation. As we head toward the end of the year, I want to make sure we have the resources to introduce ourselves to new voters and hold our ground.
