John,
Donald Trump wants to allow new oil wells off California’s coast for the first time since 1984.
I have two words for him: Hell. No.

Unlike my opponents, I reject money from Big Oil. Instead, we rely on supporters like you to power this campaign. Can you chip in $5 today?
California’s coastal waters have been marred by oil spills, including one in 2021 off the coast of Orange County.
In Congress, I held a hearing to hold polluters accountable for that leak, which dumped more than 25,000 gallons of oil into the ocean, where I uncovered millions in federal subsidies to the Big Oil company. The oil spill even led to criminal charges of negligence by the pipeline operator.
My opponents in this race have jumped at the chance to cash checks from Big Oil—but I never have and never will. I’m keeping my promise to do everything in my power to protect California from the devastating effects of climate change, and that starts by rejecting contributions from the very people who profit from pollution.
I’m running for governor because we cannot afford to move backwards on transitioning to clean energy that lowers electricity costs. I’ll never sell out to Big Oil—but I need your help to stand up to their influence in this race. Can you donate $5 to help me keep holding them accountable as governor?
