Hello Friends and Fellow West Texans,
Welcome back to my West Texas Wrap-Up. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of West Texas!
Final Term in Congress
In case you haven’t seen, I have made the decision to not seek re-election to the House of Representatives. I believe, as our founding fathers did, in citizen leadership – temporary service, not a career. It’s time to do what George Washington did, and to ride off into that big, beautiful West Texas sunset, and to live under the laws that I passed.
Epstein Accountability
This week I voted for the Epstein Files Transparency Act because I support – as I always have – complete transparency and accountability, so long as we preserve protections for the victims.
The House Oversight Committee has already done great work in gathering new details on Jeffrey Epstein, and I look forward to continuing to pursue the truth wherever it may lead.
It is, however, ironic that my Democratic colleagues are just now interested in the Epstein files after four years of crickets… anything to distract from an administration and policy agenda that is making America safer, more prosperous, and respected again.
America First with Secretary Bessent
I was pleased to welcome Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to the Capitol this week, where we discussed the progress being made by Republicans enacting pro-growth, pro-energy, and pro-work policies to bring prices and interest rates down. Under our leadership, real wages are going up, business investment is increasing, and the American people will see historic tax relief in 2026.

Securing Record Investment in Dyess Air Force Base
After 43 days of the Schumer Shutdown, one of the first orders of business in the people’s included a big win for West Texas.
Last week, we successfully passed into law $90.8 million for B-21-related construction projects at Dyess Air Force Base — the largest investment in Dyess history, more than triple last year’s historic $30 million allocation.
These funds will directly support the B-21’s arrival and ensure Dyess remains the tip of the spear for America’s air arsenal. I’m proud to have delivered this critical win for our airmen in the Big Country who deploy across the world to deter our enemies and defend our freedom.
Denouncing the Horrors of Socialism
I voted in support of H.Con.Res.58, a resolution denouncing the horrors of socialism and opposing the implementation of socialist policies in the United States, reaffirming his commitment as an original co-sponsor to defend American freedom and prosperity from destructive far-Left ideologies.
It tells you everything you need to know that the U.S. Congress would even have to debate the horrors of socialism.
Socialism has produced nothing but misery, oppression, and economic ruin everywhere in the world it has been tested.
America became the greatest nation on earth because we rejected government control over our lives and defended the God-given freedoms of our citizens.
With socialism becoming mainstream in the Democrat Party, every American must make their voices heard.

Applauding House Passage of LNG Bill
I spoke on the House Floor in support of H.R. 1949, the Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act, legislation that safeguards America’s energy security, protects West Texas jobs, and stops future administrations from weaponizing export permits to appease the radical Left.

Protecting U.S. Energy Producers from Mexico’s Unfair Trade Practices
I introduced the Mexican Energy Trade Enforcement Act, legislation that would provide President Trump and the U.S. Trade Representative with the Congressional backing to hold Mexico accountable for violating energy investment commitments it agreed to in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA).
In his landmark USMCA trade agreement, President Trump secured historic commitments to open Mexico’s energy markets to American investment and guarantee fair treatment for U.S. producers.
Unfortunately, President Biden failed to enforce those commitments, allowing Mexico to break its promises and give preferential treatment to its state-run oil and power companies while shutting out American competition
My Mexican Energy Trade Enforcement Act gives President Trump the full backing of Congress to hold Mexico accountable, defend American energy producers, and ensure our trade agreements are enforced with the strength and resolve the American people deserve.
Introducing Dr. Mindy Brashears at Confirmation Hearing for U.S. Department of Agriculture Position
Recently, I had the honor of introducing Texas Tech Professor Mindy Brashears before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, & Forestry. A world-class scientist, a woman of faith and integrity, and a true champion for American agriculture – Dr. Brashears represents the very best of West Texas and our nation’s farming communities. I was proud to endorse her as USDA’s next Under Secretary for Food Safety.

Sounding the Alarm as National Debt Surpasses $38 Trillion
America is now $38,000,000,000,000–yes, $38 trillion—in debt. To put it in perspective, that’s twice the entire economic output of the European Union, more than twenty times Great Britain’s annual budget, and a crushing $500,000 burden for every young American under 18.
The national debt is the United States’ next great war. If we lose it, we lose America’s leadership in the world and our children’s future.
But, if we are able to muster the national courage to responsibly intervene, America will lead the 21st century. Reverse the Curse!
