It’s open season on open Senate seats.

This year, SEVEN Senators — 4 Democrats and 3 Republicans — have decided to retire instead of seeking re-election in 2026.

First, some quick math: Incumbents are HIGHLY favored in Senate races, winning between 80-100% of the time.

When incumbents retire, that bump disappears.

In Republican-controlled seats, a retirement gives Democrats a MUCH better shot at victory.

For example, North Carolina WAS considered a “Lean Republican” seat until Republican Thom Tillis declined to run again.

Now with popular former Gov. Roy Cooper in the race, it’s a 50/50 toss-up.

In Democratic-controlled seats, retirements mean a long, costly primary process before we can support our eventual nominee.

That’s what’s happening in Michigan, where a tough three-way primary is playing out between Democrats.

The ultra-rich DeVos family is exploiting this delay to spread MAGA lies and swing Michigan voters towards the GOP.
