Pro-Biden super PAC will spend $24M to promote vote by mail in battleground states. "The super PAC, which is spending heavily to elect presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, will invest the $24 million in the six core battleground states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina and Arizona. The effort comes as states rush to find new ways to ensure voters can cast ballots in November amid the coronavirus pandemic." (The Hill) It's possible that the presidential election this fall may be decided by mailed-in ballots, especially with the close margins between candidates in battleground states.
Democrats -- and allied groups, like the pro-Biden super PAC mentioned above -- have turned to major vote-by-mail outreach efforts. Other states, like California, have tried to simply mail ballots to every registered voter on their rolls.
This new tactic will shorten the campaign calendar, too. In many states, vote-by-mail absentee ballots are sent out 30 to 45 days before the election. Campaigns will want to make sure supportive voters get and return their ballots as quickly as possible.
Hillary Clinton is back with an anti-Trump conspiracy theory. "'Well, I think it is a fair point to raise as to whether or not, if he loses, he’s going to go quietly or not. And we have to be ready for that,' the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee told host Trevor Noah on Monday’s The Daily Show." (Daily Wire) Hillary Clinton -- erstwhile 2016 presidential candidate and 2020 podcast host -- is using media attention to push an anti-President Trump conspiracy theory: that he wouldn't "go quietly" if he lost the presidential election.
Of course, it's the Democrats in recent years who have found it difficult to accept election results.
They won't forgive President Trump for winning in 2016, and they've done the same in other high-profile campaigns, like Stacy Abrams' loss for Georgia governor in 2018.
Biden embraces the Green New Deal and wants to spend $2T of taxpayers' money to make it happen. "Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced Tuesday a $2 trillion budget to combat climate change reform and create jobs, according to The New York Times." (Daily Caller) The progressive wing of the Democratic Party has won -- and Joe Biden's new climate change platform proves it.
The plan he released yesterday is a wishlist from left-wing activists, and it comes at a hefty price. Biden committed to spend $2 trillion in just four years (i.e. a presidential term).
Biden has tried to present himself as a moderate, but his rhetoric and now his policy ideas are increasingly drawn from the far left. Only time will tell what voters think of that.
Kanye West has reportedly dropped out of the 2020 election. "Rapper Kanye West has reportedly dropped out of the presidential race after attempting to get on the ballot in Florida and South Carolina. New York Magazine reported late Tuesday that a campaign specialist who had been hired by West to get him on the ballot told the outlet West was 'out.'" (Daily Wire) After a July 4 tweet in which he announced he's running for president, Kanye West has reportedly dropped out of the race this week, per a campaign consultant.
This comes after West tweeted a video of himself registering to vote in Wyoming and reportedly hired people in Florida to start collecting signatures to get on the ballot.
