Dear Friend,
Telegram readers know that I have consistently said, regardless of the issue, the American people deserve full transparency.
Whether it’s exposing the Biden family’s enrichment schemes, revealing the FBI’s surveillance of Catholics, or demanding the release of the Epstein files, transparency is the only way we can restore trust in our institutions.
That’s why this week I voted to release the Epstein files in full. Earlier this year, I also supported disclosing the documents that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee gathered in their bipartisan investigation of the Epstein case. This resulted in over 65,000 pages of documents already being made public.
For years under President Biden, Democrats kept these files sealed, and this week we learned why that might have been the case.
A sitting House Democrat was caught texting Jeffrey Epstein during a live committee hearing in 2019, after he was already a convicted sex offender.
But wait, it only gets worse.
Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-U.S. Virgin Islands) also solicited $30,000 from Epstein. She initially refused to return the money she received from him, then backtracked only after criticism.
Because of this conduct, I voted to censure her and remove her from the Intelligence Committee this week. Unfortunately, every Democrat voted to protect her and the measure failed. You can even watch some Democrats appallingly defend that vote on CNN here and on the House floor here.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and you will be pleased to know that President Trump has already signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act into law.
As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m thankful for this administration’s work to restore transparency in our government. From releasing the Epstein files to give victims further justice, to exposing the foreign pet projects your tax dollars have funded, to uncovering rampant fraud inside our welfare programs, you have a right to know who is involved and where your money is going.
Thank you again for starting your weekend with the Tiffany Telegram. I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and be sure to check the rest of today’s Telegram to see where you can find complimentary meals this holiday. We will be back in two weeks with more.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany Member of Congress
This week, six Democrat members of Congress urged our military to defy orders, and Democrats in the Wisconsin state legislature held a training session on how to obstruct federal law enforcement. You can watch what I had to say about that here.
Feeding foreign terrorism?
What if I told you that American taxpayers could unwittingly be the top funder of the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab Islamic terror network thanks to rampant fraud? How about if I also told you that a failed and faraway government in Somalia cashed in on it – potentially to the tune of more than $1 billion? Well, I regret to inform you that both things appear to be true according to a bombshell investigative report on a series of Somali fraud schemes in Minnesota. And the grift was allegedly so far-reaching that the U.S. Attorney in the Twin Cities says it could involve “billions of dollars” in taxpayer funds. It is no secret that the Gopher State has been plagued by systemic corruption in recent years. The most well-known of these rackets is perhaps the notorious “Feeding our Future” scam, in which nearly 60 people were convicted for stealing upwards of a quarter billion dollars intended for poor children. But there have been others, including one that siphoned money away from a taxpayer-supported budget for childhood autism, and another in which fraudsters targeted a housing program. Perhaps this is why the amount of money sent back to Somalia from the U.S. in the form of “remittances” in 2023 alone was close to $2 billion – more than the entire national budget of Somalia’s China-controlled puppet regime in Mogadishu, which I called out earlier this year.
Remembering the Waukesha Christmas parade attack
Today marks the four-year anniversary of the tragic Waukesha Christmas parade attack, which killed 6 people and left 62 others injured. Our entire Wisconsin House delegation joined Representative Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) in introducing a House Resolution to honor the memory of these victims, thank the vital life-saving efforts of our first responders in the incident, and recognize the Waukesha community for their continued strength in the wake of this horrific attack. While we remember these victims, it is important to highlight that many such attacks have occurred across the country, and our justice system has not learned a lesson. As you may remember, the perpetrator of the Waukesha Christmas parade attack was first charged with battery in 1999 and between then and the 2021 attack, was listed as a registered sex offender, charged with assault with a firearm, and arrested for domestic violence. You would think that with this kind of criminal history, he would have been kept off our streets, but unfortunately, weak judges and partisan district attorneys allow such criminals to be given lower bail and early release. Even recently, Lawrence Reed from Chicago – someone who has been arrested 49 times with 10 felony charges – was yet again arrested for setting a Chicago woman on fire. Soft-on-crime judges and pro-criminal policies are harming American citizens, and I will be working with my colleagues to make sure that those who harm our friends and neighbors are held accountable.

Committee Update
Natural Resources
SPEEDing up our economy
Yesterday, the Natural Resources Committee held a markup where we passed a comprehensive permitting reform bill called the SPEED Act. The Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act, is a bipartisan bill that brings long overdue modernization to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) by reducing permitting timelines, streamlining judicial reviews, and cutting down on frivolous litigation. These reforms are crucial for lowering energy prices, building essential projects, and unleashing our economy. For too long, NEPA has been a prime example of bureaucratic delays, and it has played a large role in why building and developing resources in America has become increasingly difficult over the last few decades. This legislation will help return NEPA to its original purpose and reinforce that we can harness our natural resources while also protecting our environment. All sectors of our economy are impacted by these permitting requirements, and the reforms included in the SPEED Act will help usher in a new era of American prosperity and opportunity. This legislation passed with bipartisan support out of the committee, and now it will head to the full House for consideration.
Recent Legislation
A Marshfield story worth honoring
This week, I introduced a bipartisan bill to designate the post office in Marshfield, Wisconsin, after the late Army Corporal Gordon “Gordy” Richard Schmoll. Gordy was a Marshfield native who first entered the United States Army in 1943 and served in France and Germany during World War II. Among the honors he received were the Victory Medal, two bronze battle stars on the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. After the war, Gordy returned to Marshfield, where he worked for 47 years at the Roddis Veneer Company, which supplied critical wartime materials for PT boats, Liberty ships, military aircraft, and even the Spruce Goose. He rarely missed a day, carrying the same steady commitment he showed in uniform into the rest of his life. You can read more about this renaming here. As our nation renews its commitment to the men and women who served, President Trump has driven real improvement for veterans. So far this year, his administration has reduced the backlog of veterans waiting for VA benefits by more than half, processed a record number of disability claims, expanded access through new clinics across the country, and offered more than a million after-hours appointments.
Is the “green” lobby actually red?
It’s no secret that Communist China is working hard to influence U.S. politics. The only question is exactly how widespread those efforts actually are – which include a “non-governmental organization” with a significant presence in Beijing wiring “millions of dollars to fund climate initiatives and environmental groups in the U.S.” That’s why I joined Rep. Lance Gooden (TX-05) this week in asking Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate efforts by the People’s Republic of China to disrupt and manipulate American energy policy through undisclosed donations to left-wing “green lobby” groups and other shady “third party organizations” – like so-called NGOs and “non-profits” – right here in the United States. You can read that letter here, and learn more about our efforts here.
