In 2025, Virginians made history. Together, we elected Abigail Spanberger as our Commonwealth’s first woman governor, Ghazala Hashmi as lieutenant governor, and Jay Jones as attorney general. It was a clean sweep for Democrats and a clear message that Virginia believes in progress, not chaos.

These victories were about more than one election night. They were a powerful reminder that when we organize, when we connect with voters, and when we stand up for our values, we win.

Looking ahead to 2026, the work continues. Across the country, Democrats are preparing for critical midterm elections that will decide control of Congress and the direction of our nation. 

Here in Virginia, our victories have inspired Democrats everywhere to keep fighting for affordable living, strong schools, reproductive freedom, and a fair economy that works for everyone.
