NOW has always been at the forefront of combating violence, raising our collective voice generations ago when intimate partner violence was considered “a private matter” and survivors had nowhere to turn.
Our community’s activism has undoubtedly led to progress in forcing America to address the plague of violence against women.
However, we know there’s still so much more work for us to do as opponents of women’s rights fight to roll back hard-won protections; cultural forces push to normalize violence; and technology is allowing violence to mutate in new, dangerous ways.
