Email from Rep. Van Duyne   Washington, D.C. – We were excited to get back to Washington to continue the amazing work we have done this Congress! Tuesday morning the Small Business Committee met for a full committee markup, where we passed all seven of the bills that were considered. These bills will help American small businesses thrive, by expanding access to AI, and removing burdensome regulations for our job creators. I introduced the No Aid for Illegal Entry Act, which prohibits federal funds from being awarded to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that transport, house, or provide legal services to those who entered the U.S. illegally. Read more in my work of the week below. Tuesday evening I joined my House Republican colleagues in passing three resolutions overturning burdensome Biden-era regulations to help create a greater supply of energy and lower prices for hardworking Americans. This would make 23 Biden-era rules reversed this year alone. We voted to restore coal leasing in Wyoming, restart oil and gas leasing in the Arctic National Wildlife Refugee, and reverse the rule that locked up 12 million acres of resources in Alaska. You can always watch my interviews from the week that are featured in our “in the News” section below! To view my interview with the National Report on Newsmax, click on the image or here. It was great to see the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, H.E. Sun Chantho. We were able to discuss the recent Cambodia Agreement on Reciprocal Trade. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Cambodia Caucus I have been engaged with my counterparts in Cambodia over the last several years, I know how much they value this new agreement and the stronger partnership it represents with the United States. Wednesday evening I joined my colleagues in voting to keep our nation's capital safe – passing two bills that will keep violent criminals off our streets by ending cashless bail, and repealing another anti-police law in D.C. We are working on delivering solutions to restore law and order and keep our communities safe! Thursday, we had a Small Business Committee hearing on American-based manufacturing. At the hearing, I announced that I introduced my Made in America Integrity Act. My bill strengthens penalties for companies who falsely claim their goods or services are “made in America” to win federal contracts – it's this kind of fraud that directly undermines the manufacturers who invest in our American workers. You can watch my remarks here. Later that day we passed two more bills out of the House to unleash America’s energy dominance to deliver lower costs for hardworking Americans. We are slashing red tape, streamlining American LNG exports, and preventing a future LNG export ban like the one imposed under Biden. Also passing the REFINER Act which will increase America’s refining capacity, strengthen energy infrastructure. Every veteran has a story worth remembering. Through the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, we’re capturing these powerful moments of service, sacrifice, and strength to ensure their legacy lives on. Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, I introduced the No Aid for Illegal Entry Act to start dismantling aspects of vast government spending directed towards non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who assist in mass illegal immigration operations. Texas-24 Hometown Hero This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Euless native, Aneesh Mazumder! Aneesh launched his own nonprofit to empower students to aspire to a career in medicine, he is also an alum of our Congressional Youth Advisory program!
