** Rail reform: share your views
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Supporter

The way the railways are run is changing. Rail operators are coming under public ownership. And, through its Railways Bill, published this month, the Government will bring track and trains together under the control of a new public body, Great British Railways.

Great British Railways will manage the whole network, and it could become the second largest employer in the country after the NHS.

This level of change is likely to be a huge challenge – but it's also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make rail travel better for everyone.

At Campaign for Better Transport, we think it's vital that passengers' voices are heard in the rail reform process, so we're running a survey ([link removed]) . We really hope you'll take part!

In your opinion, what are the issues that the rail reform process must tackle? What should be Great British Railways' top priorities?
* Making train tickets more affordable?
* Making trains more reliable?
* Improving accessibility?
* Building more lines and stations?

Or something else? Tell us by filling in our survey.

We will share the survey results with key decision makers in government and the rail industry, and through our public campaigning. And while we can't guarantee what this will lead to, Campaign for Better Transport has a track record of successfully making change happen ([link removed]) .

Please do fill in the survey ([link removed]) - it will take around 10 minutes. You don't need any special knowledge of how the railways are run - in fact you might not care a jot! You might simply want better journeys. In any case, we really do want to hear from you.Michael Solomon Williams

Thank you very much

Michael
