Stronger flavor policies, better outcomes for young people

A study published in JNCI Monographs found that young people who live in areas with strong flavor policies have a lower prevalence of tobacco product use, including flavored products, compared with those who are unprotected by flavored tobacco laws. However, most young people – especially Black, non-Hispanic young people – remain unprotected by strong flavored tobacco restrictions, underscoring the need for equitable policy coverage.
