National Highways has reminded motorists and residents that it will be closing the A52 Derby Road for resurfacing from tonight (Friday 21 November).
This is to allow resurfacing to take place as part of its wider road improvement and cycleway programme. It is the first of two weekend closures, which are:
- 8pm Friday 21 November to 6am Monday 24 November
- 8pm Friday 5 December to 6am Monday 8 December
The organisation has previously announced that road closures on the A52 will be temporarily lifted for Christmas.
National Highways says that it is making good progress on its year-long programme of improvements. Work has already seen 540 metres of new electrical ducting installed, 28 new street lights put in, as well as new gullies, kerbs and paving.
The road will reopen in both directions - daytime and weekends - from Monday 24 November until early in the New Year, apert from the second weekend mentioned above.
National Highways has reminded drivers that Priory roundabout will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on the following dates:
- Monday 24 November to Friday 28 November
- Monday 1 December and Tuesday 2 November
