Congress is finally back in session after a month-long government shutdown and Republicans wasted no time launching a new attack on our public lands.
This week, they voted to overturn Biden Administration land management plans that were aimed at ensuring conservation was a key consideration in the stewardship of public lands in Wyoming and Alaska. You might think that shouldn’t be a controversial concept, but then you haven’t met Congressional Republicans, who will put the needs of oil and gas producers above all else.
This comes on the heels of an announcement by President Trump that he was opening up more than 11 million acres of public lands of an untouched Alaska reserve for oil and gas development.
