Friend, what would it look like if we made our state government more responsive and accountable to the taxpayers who fund it?
This will be a day-one priority of mine as Colorado’s next governor.
If you’re already on board with our vision, you can show your support by chipping in right here — but if you’d like to learn more first, read on 👇 [[link removed]]
All of us have known what it’s like to really not look forward to interacting with a government agency.
🚗 We’ve all heard the jokes about the frustration that comes with renewing a driver’s license at the DMV.
☎️ We’ve come to expect hours of waiting on hold before we can speak to a government official.
📆 We budget for weeks- or months-long delays when trying to get authorizations for a business (and hope we’ve followed all the processes correctly).
⚠️ We might report a road pothole, but we wonder whether a response — much less an action — will ever come back.
Whether you’re a private citizen or a public sector employee showing up and doing your best, we could all benefit from making our government more responsive and less frustrating to navigate. We don’t have to live with the status quo — there is a better way.
On day one as governor, I will change how our state government operates by:
1. Directing that any taxpayer who calls, emails, or contacts an agency must receive a response within 48 hours
2. Establishing a team within the governor’s office dedicated to improving state operations and performance management
3. Calling for a rigorous review of all our state regulations, so we can make them more understandable — and reduce or even eliminate any that don’t serve a useful purpose anymore
I have spent my career in public service focused on making government work better for people. I am energized to do just that as Colorado’s next governor, friend — and thanks to the time I’ve spent as your attorney general, I’m ready to hit the ground running on day one. So I’m humbly asking: will you support our campaign today with $5, $10, or whatever fits your budget? [[link removed]]
