Can ‘Debunker Bots’ Fight Antisemitic Conspiracy Theories?

A study by independent researchers supported by ADL found in a test that short conversations with an AI-powered large language model (LLM) reduced belief in antisemitic conspiracy theories. Those fell by 16% and favorability toward Jews went up by 25% among initially unfavorable participants.
This study challenges assumptions that antisemitic beliefs are immune to factual correction and shows that facts still matter in changing minds.
“This research shows the potential is enormous; the next step is figuring out how to leverage this to meet people where they are and get them to use these tools,” said Matt Williams, Vice President of the ADL Center for Antisemitism Research.

Hearings on U.S. Antisemitism Envoy: In advance of yesterday’s Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Nominations Hearing, ADL provided questions and background materials to support Members of the Committee. Witnesses included Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, nominee to be Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism and Tammy Bruce, nominee for Deputy Representative of the US to the UN. If confirmed, Rabbi Kaploun would assume one of the most important roles within the Trump Administration in leading global efforts to fight antisemitism. During the hearing, several Senators referenced ADL materials to question the nominees on efforts to confront antisemitism globally, address bias against
Israel at the UN and ensure UN-produced materials are not inflaming antisemitism.

Say NO to Microsoft Shareholder Prop 9: ADL and its affiliate JLens are pressing shareholders of Microsoft to vote AGAINST Proposal 9, a shareholder resolution that we believe represents a politically motivated, BDS-aligned campaign designed to stigmatize lawful business with Israel and expose Microsoft to significant financial, legal and reputational risks rather than promote genuine human rights oversight. JLens has filed a Notice of Exempt Solicitation with the SEC, formally documenting its opposition to the shareholder proposal.

MAKING PROGRESS WITH ADL

Creating a Hemisphere Free of Antisemitism: This month, the Organization of American States (OAS) accredited ADL as a Civil Society Organization, a culmination of ADL’s sustained efforts and advocacy for this designation.
This formal status strengthens ADL’s position as a policy thought leader and enables us to help protect and advocate for Jewish communities in the Americas and beyond. It empowers ADL to engage with member states and OAS offices including the Special Advisor on Antisemitism to the Secretary General; to convene briefings and host events and to participate in OAS deliberations on issues related to antisemitism and Jewish security in the region.
The OAS is the forum that brings together the 35 independent states in the Americas and promotes democracy, human rights, security and development. On regional matters — especially human rights and democratic governance — the UN often looks to the OAS’ leadership and coordination.

This week, the French government posthumously promoted Captain Alfred Dreyfus, the victim of malicious antisemitic accusations of treason 130 years ago. The lessons of the Dreyfus Affair remain pertinent today. Our Global 100 survey shows high levels of belief in the slander that Jews are disloyal to their countries, one of the most popular antisemitic stereotypes among those we tested across the world.

Antisemitism, racism, white supremacy and misogyny all at the fingertips of young internet users. Goyim Defense League leader Jon Minadeo uses video chat rooms to prey on minors and share disturbing, Neo-Nazi content. The GDL’s goal is to expel Jews from the U.S, and online, they berate and indoctrinate children with ideas of discrimination and violence.
