The shutdown might be over, John, but there is one fact that I cannot get past:

Republicans were more than willing to use hungry children as political pawns. It is unconscionable, and it should be clear to the American people that Republicans do not give a damn about them.

Meanwhile, I have a proven record over multiple Congresses of fighting to keep people fed.

While Democrats fought to keep people fed, Republicans stalled, cancelled votes, filed appeals, and did whatever they could to change the subject. That is not leadership.
