Business Insider: Even with the government open, millions of Americans could see their healthcare costs skyrocket
The GOP’s recent government shutdown was the longest in our country’s history, and while things are slowly getting back to normal, it’s important we don’t lose sight of how we got here:
Donald Trump and the GOP want American families to pay more for their health insurance, plain and simple.
That’s why they’re letting the ACA subsidies expire at the end of the year, which would raise premiums for millions of Americans, sometimes even doubling or tripling costs.
I’m committed to helping Democrats retake the House next year so that we can put Congress to work for American families — not Trump and his corporate backers.
Will you please chip in $25 to help keep KY-03 blue and put Democrats on strong footing to retake the House? Every blue seat we lose is another red one we need to flip!

Look, I understand that our healthcare system can be a logistical nightmare, and people are already paying too much for their insurance.
My family experienced these challenges firsthand when our twins were born premature, and getting answers and help was the only thing on our mind.
That’s actually one of the reasons I decided to run for office in the first place.
Bottom line, we need to be making health care more affordable, accessible, and equitable.
But the GOP has made it clear that doing so isn’t a priority, and they’re throwing working families and our communities’ most vulnerable under the bus.
It’s long overdue that we flip the House and start righting these wrongs, John.
I’m not only working to keep KY-03 blue, but as DCCC Recruitment Co-Chair, I’m actively working on our roster of exciting 2026 Democrats to help retake the House. Will you please pitch in $25 ASAP to fuel those efforts?
