This time of year, I’m always reminded of the power and importance of coming together to support one another.

I’m especially thinking of the many families affected by the recent government shutdown. Between missed paychecks, the rising cost of groceries, and cuts to SNAP benefits, it has been more difficult for some households to put a Thanksgiving meal on the table. But no one should have to choose between paying a bill and sharing a holiday with the people they love.

So as the holiday season approaches, there has never been a more meaningful time to give to a food bank in your community. The added pressures of this season can weigh heavily on families already stretching every dollar, and even a small act of generosity can bring tremendous relief and hope to someone in need.
