Dear John,

2025 has been frightening—we won’t sugarcoat it. But hear us when we say this: We have been here before, and we know how to win.

Our 52 years of building women’s collective power have only strengthened our resolve. We have faced many crises together, and come out stronger than before, with your support.

In 1973, when our founding mothers, Gloria Steinem, Patricia Carbine, Letty Cottin-Pogrebin and Marlo Thomas, established Ms. Foundation, they introduced the then-revolutionary idea that women themselves could provide leadership, support and solutions to the most pressing issues our country faced.

From there, we invested in local and state organizing that was driving feminist movements forward.

During the AIDS crisis, we started the Women and AIDS Fund: the first national fund solely dedicated to supporting community-based advocacy led by and for women living with HIV/AIDS. After the devastation of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we formed the Katrina Women’s Response Fund to deliver nearly $3 million to over 40 grassroots organizations to rebuild their communities.

Several years ago, we released a new strategic framework centering investment in women and girls of color as a means to create social, cultural, and economic equity for all. Our landmark Pocket Change report revealed the ways in which traditional philanthropy leaves women and girls of color behind. This report has become a driving force for change in the sector.

In 2026 and beyond, we will continue to fight for equity. With your support, we can continue to fund and resource hundreds of organizations across America pushing for a more just and equitable future for all.
