We have truth on our side.

Dear FAIR Family,

We’re beginning our year-end fund drive with a goal of raising $120,000 by January 1.

We’re asking for your support at the end of a very fraught year. In 2025, we saw Trump’s retaking of the White House, and along with it renewed and intensified attacks on free speech, a  free press, immigrants’ rights, LGBTQ rights, public health, the climate and democracy itself. We’re seeing federal agents occupying our own cities, extrajudicial attacks on Venezuelan boats, and the genocide of Palestinians continue with impunity. Working Americans face hunger and prohibitive healthcare costs, all while the billionaire class enjoys lavish parties, tax cuts and protection from all accountability. Democracy is in peril, but we have truth on our side. With last month’s wins in New York City and across the country, we see the hopeful glimmer of Americans standing up to fascism and oligopoly—and for working people.

As the Trump administration threatens the tax-exempt status of progressive nonprofits, labelling any speech it disagrees with as “terrorist,” we refuse to back down.

Thanks to you, our community of donors, FAIR is able to courageously cut through illusions and deceit, even while truth-telling is being attacked and criminalized.

As ever, we need your help to continue this work. Please donate to FAIR this holiday season.

We are still working to close a wide gap in fundraising, amid dips in giving and the dissolution of foundations that have supported FAIR over the years. What we are able to raise during this month’s fundraising drive sets us up for the year ahead, and ensures our small but scrappy staff and freelancers can produce the next FAIR.org analysis, issue of Extra! and episode of CounterSpin, and keep nearly four decades of archived content free to access online.

Support FAIR and our mission to make truth accessible to all!

This year, your generosity helped us publish criticisms of media’s kowtowing to Trump’s influence, ignoring famine and genocide in Gaza, sidelining trans and queer perspectives in stories about their rights, obfuscating corporate climate culpability, downplaying the bipartisan popularity of universal healthcare, and more.

FAIR’s work continues independent of political or corporate influence, while the corporate press panders to Trump, prioritizing profits over its purpose to inform the public.

A donation to FAIR is an investment in truth, justice and access to reliable information for all, especially during these dark times.

We pledge that this work will continue for as long as we have the resources to continue it. 2026 will be FAIR’s 40th year. It’s rare that a small, progressive nonprofit survives this long, and we have YOU to thank for that. Whether you’ve been with us since the early days, or you’re just joining our movement now, we are incredibly grateful to fight the fight with you!

Thank you for supporting tenacious truth-telling.

Wishing you a holiday season full of hope and peace.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at FAIR
Olivia Riggio, Julie Hollar, Janine Jackson & Jim Naureckas
