John – Three years ago today, I was on a plane back from New Member Orientation in D.C.:
After days of counting ballots, we won this race by a razor-thin margin:
less than one percentage point, or just two votes per precinct. Our upset victory shocked the analysts and pundits who counted us out from the beginning.
It sent a powerful message: everyday people here in Southwest Washington and nationwide want representatives who will seek to build rather than destroy, who will listen and do the work rather than bask in celebrity, and who will focus on substance, not slogans or sound bites.
That’s still true three years later, and it remains central to my work in Congress.
But now that we’re less than a year out from the next election, pundits and pollsters are counting us out once again – let’s prove that we’re not going anywhere. If you can, pitch in $10 or more towards our $30,000 November goal right away:

Thanks for sticking with us, John. Let’s keep fighting.
