Yesterday I voted to release the Epstein files.

Speaker Mike Johnson spent months trying to delay this. He refused to swear in Rep. Adelita Grijalva for 50 days to stop her from signing the discharge petition that forced the vote. And after the bill passed the House, he tried to get the Senate to water it down. They didn’t. The bill is now sitting on Trump’s desk.

I’m glad that we are one step closer to transparency and justice. The public deserves the truth, and no one, no speaker or president, should be able to bury it.

But let’s be clear: Johnson wasn’t trying to protect the victims. He was trying to protect Trump.

Trump controls the House majority, and every day that continues our institutions become weaker and less accountable.

That’s why the work ahead is so important. We need to restore a Congress that serves the people, not the president.
