My life and work have always been rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity and safety. As the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants and now a Congresswoman, I know what it means when communities are targeted and pushed to the margins.
That is why I have always fought for LGBTQ+ rights. Trans Americans deserve the same freedom, opportunity, and respect as anyone else. And I will not stay quiet while extremists try to erase, shame, or dehumanize them.
