WHO ARE THE FAIR HOUSING THREE?
The Fair Housing Three are civil rights attorneys in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) members, and organizers with the Federal Unionists Network (FUN).
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Members of the Fair Housing Three submitted a whistleblower complaint outlining how HUD Secretary Scott Turner–under the guidance of billionaire champions like Donald Trump and Russell Vought– is dismantling civil-rights enforcement, violating federal law, and endangering the public. The whistleblowers were relieved from their positions at HUD on September 29, 2025. Just two months earlier, a Supervisor from the same team was fired after raising concerns that the Administration’s actions were illegal.
WHY ARE THE FAIR HOUSING THREE SOUNDING THE ALARM?
Vulnerable members of our communities are being left without basic mechanisms to protect them from discrimination by landlords, real estate agents, lenders and corporate investors. Preventing the Fair Housing Three from fulfilling their oath of service and holding HUD hostage to Trump’s anti-DEI crusade puts veterans, people with disabilities, domestic violence survivors, and low-wage workers of color at risk.
