In October, we filed a class action lawsuit challenging the Trump administration for its unlawful consolidation of sensitive personal information across federal agencies.

Our lawsuit alleges that the administration turned the Department of Homeland Security’s SAVE system into a national citizenship database, pooling Social Security Administration data that the government itself admits is unreliable. It creates real security risks for your information and some states are now using that data to wrongfully purge voter rolls—a direct threat to our democracy.

CREW is asking the court to stop the administration from exploiting Americans’ private data and we need your support. The administration is now seeking the public’s comments about their actions—so if you can take a moment to share your thoughts, you can help us defend voting rights and hold the Trump administration accountable.

The administration needs to hear from people across the country that they want the government to leave their data alone. The message is simple: The Trump administration's illegal creation of massive, secret systems for accessing Americans’ personal information poses serious privacy and data-security risks and threatens to wrongfully purge eligible voters from voter rolls across the country.
