Hello John! It was a Weekend of Action to remember! Changemaker, partner, and participant energy was incredible. Missed our Weekend of Action, or just want to keep up the momentum? We’ve got some actions you can take this week to Lead the Change and Defend the Future. Action 1: Sign up for a Virtual Policy 101 Training Our Policy 101 workshops are designed to demystify policy, introduce the concept of systems of power and their influence on policy, provide an overview of the basic elements of a policy agenda, and provide participants the opportunity to draft an advocacy strategy for an issue that they care about. If you missed our live workshop in DC, you can register for our online, self-paced version below. Action 2: Donate to Feed Our Communities We believe in policies that support young people and their families in times of scarcity. And while social safety nets continue to be dissolved, we’re taking direct action to feed our communities. Swipe Out Hunger is a national nonprofit powering the movement to end college student hunger. They have enabled 20.5 million meals across more than 900 campuses throughout North America. Your donation directly supports this work. Action 3: Contact your Representative Everyone deserves access to food, housing, or financial assistance. However, leaders continue to cut resources that uplift people in need. We’re reaching out to our Congresspeople to let them know how cuts are impacting us, and demanding these funds be restored now.
Action 4: Stream the New Deal for Youth Album We’re beyond excited to share our album debut with you guys. Spearheaded by our Arts & Advocacy Group, this project has been years in the making and is the product of hours of creativity and collaboration. We believe that music is healing. We also believe that art is political. Each track on this album reflects that. Join the movement, and listen now! Follow ND4Y on Social Media!
