John,
Today, the House finally voted to release the Epstein files -- a long-overdue step toward real accountability and justice. It should never have taken this long, and frankly, it should never have required this much pressure. It’s a reminder that when powerful people protect other powerful people, everyday Americans always pay the price.
And the truth is… last week’s release of the Epstein emails made that painfully clear.
Buried in those emails was a detail I wish I could say shocked me: one of Diana DeGette’s own fundraisers approached Jeffrey Epstein, years after it was public knowledge that he was a predator who targeted underage girls, asking him for a big check to bankroll Diana's campaign.
While Diana may not have gone to Epstein herself, this is exactly how corruption seeps into our politics. When you build a career on taking money from anywhere and anyone, you open the door for the worst people alive to buy influence -- from Purdue Pharma, the architects of the opioid crisis, to, apparently, almost Jeffrey Epstein.
I’m running because Denver deserves better than this. We deserve leadership that doesn’t flinch, doesn’t look away, and doesn’t swing the gate wide open for some of the most dangerous people in the world just because they’re willing to write a check.
This campaign runs entirely on grassroots donations – no dirty opioid money, not a dime from men with private islands, none of it. Just real people who believe Denver deserves better. So will you help us take on Diana? Will you chip in anything you can to help us build a campaign strong enough to take on entrenched corruption – and win?
