Hi John,
I’m Marion, and I was a participant at Immigrants Rising’s first-ever Home Is Here Opportunity Program and mental health programs.
As a fellow, I built relationships with my local community, from students to day laborers, to teach them about entrepreneurship as a viable way to make money. This was when DHS was forming a partnership with the IRS, a time when the President tried to weaponize our own contributions against us. And in the midst of uncertainty, the program and our community presentations were a hub for hope and levity.
