The Trump administration tried to withhold billions in transportation funding unless states like Maryland agreed to help enforce their extreme immigration agenda.
I took them to court, and we won.
A federal judge just issued a permanent injunction blocking the administration’s unlawful effort, writing that they had “blatantly overstepped their authority” and violated the Constitution. This ruling protects more than $1 billion a year in federal funding that keeps Maryland moving: it allows us to maintain our highways, fix bridges, and support public transit systems in every corner of the state.
This victory is another example of what we can achieve when we fight back against overreach. But these fights don’t end here — the Trump administration is still trying to undermine federal protections and state autonomy.
I’m running for re-election to keep holding the line and fighting back against Trump’s lawless overreach.
Will you chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can today to help me keep fighting for families and communities?
