John,
After a bruising, knock-down fight, the House of Representatives passed a resolution to release the Epstein files today. In the end, only one Republican went on the record against it.
The only reason we got this far is because House Democrats used a discharge petition to force a vote on the resolution―and a few Republicans who refused to listen to Donald Trump’s armtwisting joined them.
Discharge petitions work―and with health insurance premiums doubling around the country thanks to the Trump administration, it’s time for another one.
Can you send a message to your Representative in the House, urging them to sign the discharge petition to keep health care affordable?
The Trump administration has refused to cooperate with Democrats’ attempts to negotiate the prevention of a health care catastrophe. As a result, premiums are spiking in every district in the country―this isn’t a left or right issue. Access to health care affects us all.
If this discharge petition gets 218 signatures, Mike Johnson can’t block it. This one has 188, and it was just introduced last week. If there’s a vote, Republicans will feel the pressure to keep health care affordable for their voters. And just like with Jeffrey Epstein, a trickle of votes could turn into a flood.
This affects everyone. Unless you’re a billionaire taking a private jet to a private hospital, Republicans are making your health care more expensive. We can stop it.
Send a message to your Representative in the House: Sign the discharge petition to keep health care affordable!
Thank you,
