Which principle should guide America’s future?
<[link removed]>

Hi John,

With New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani dominating the national
conversation after his sweeping election win, many people are asking what his
victory means for the future of the country.

As I wrote this week in RealClearPolitics
<[link removed]>
, the answer comes down to a choice between two sharply different visions for
America.

In his victory speech, Mr. Mamdani declared that “there is no problem too
large for government to solve.” His supporters cheered —but history tells a
different story.

We’ve seen this throughout our own hemisphere, in places like Cuba and
Venezuela, where the promise of government-driven solutions left people with
fewer choices and less opportunity.

However, Mr. Mamdani is right that our nation faces serious challenges. But I
believe even more strongly in the people of this country — in their creativity,
their resilience, and their ability to solve problems when they’re empowered
with freedom and opportunity.

As we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary, Americans are asking
foundational questions about who we are and what we want our future to look
like.

* Will we embrace a top-down model that gives government more control over
our lives?
* Or a bottom-up vision where free people have the chance to pursue their
dreams and build stronger communities?

📊 POLL: Take our one-minute poll and tell us

— should America’s future be guided by bottom-up freedom or top-down
government control?
