John,
Donald Trump is looming large over the 2026 election, and not in a good way for Christine Drazan and Oregon Republicans.
A new poll demonstrates just how angry voters across the state are about Trump’s policies and actions, particularly when it comes to his attacks on Portland. A big majority (60%) of Oregonians are opposed to Trump sending National Guard troops to the city.
The message is clear: 61% of respondents will vote for the candidate who will challenge Trump’s policies — not just on troops, but on everything.
That’s going to be a big problem for Christine Drazan. Just as a reminder, here’s what she’s done:
- Sided with Donald Trump on deploying the National Guard to Portland.
- Pushed a radical abortion ban and was endorsed by Oregon Right to Life, a radical group that opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest.
- Voted to cut funding for Medicaid, threatening health care for 1.3 million Oregonians.
- Joined extremists pushing schools to ban books about race and LGBTQ+ themes.
- Opposed expanding affordable housing options that our state desperately needs.
Drazan is clearly not aligned with Oregonians’ values. But she’s Trump’s choice, and the GOP is going to go all in on trying to flip the governor’s seat.
