God's Word & God's Will with Pastor Steven Thomas

We often report the success of missions work, but how often are you calling your congregation to the missions field? This week, host Dave Stone is joined by Steven Thomas of Thomas Road Baptist Church to share how his family's intense persecution in India has shaped his faith and calling. Steven also covers how important it is to help our young adults fall in love with God's Word, and how pastors, when speaking about missions, should call their congregations to action.

Six Ways to Raise Up People of the Book

Barnabas Piper

As I have talked with pastor friends of mine from around the United States, I’ve found many of us share a common concern. Our people are not very biblically literate. Where once a preacher could make a passing reference to an Old Testament character or story in an illustration or could sprinkle in quotations from Paul’s epistles, we must now explain these references in great detail. People don’t know what the Bible says like they used to.

Trusting God

Jerry Bridges

Many of us have asked these questions when life hits us hard. When our circumstances defy explanation, it is difficult to untangle our emotions from the truth. Before long, we feel confused and frustrated. We doubt His care for us. We wonder how He could allow these circumstances at all, or if He is really in control.

During a time of darkness and adversity in his own life, Jerry Bridges dug deep into the Bible for answers on God’s sovereignty. What he learned changed his life―and it will change yours too.

Pastoral Productivity

Since the fall, work has been marked by frustration: thorns, thistles, time limits, and competing priorities. For pastors, that struggle runs deeper. Sermon prep, shepherding, family, leadership, and soul care constantly compete for your limited attention. But the goal of productivity in ministry isn’t to do more. It’s to cultivate what matters.
