John,
If I've learned anything in my career in public service, it's that creating truly positive change is never easy. But that shouldn't mean we have to waver on our values or water down our progressive vision.
In one corner, we are fighting for consumer protections and for people who don't have endless zeros in their bank account.
In the other corner, you have the most anti-consumer and anti-average-person administration in history; where if your net worth isn’t over half a billion, they just don’t care about you.
That is not a place to compromise for the sake of compromise. People need cheaper groceries, affordable healthcare, and lower rents now, not next year.
It is also true that next year presents an opportunity to fundamentally change this equation. And the reality is, while I can and will ensure that we progress on these issues in the face of Trump’s obstruction, a Democratic majority will go a long way in making average people feel like part of the process again.
That’s why, as we reach the mid-point of our FEC fundraising deadline, I’m asking for your support. I’m going to keep fighting every day in Washington, but if you’re able, please start our fundraising push to start the blue wave strong by making a $3 contribution today.

Thank you for helping us build a society with clean air to breathe and pure water to drink, affordable healthcare, and so much more that we deserve.
