SBCTE AND SBE TO MEET IN CASPER

CHEYENNE - The Wyoming State Board of Career and Technical Education (SBCTE) will meet virtually at 9 a.m. on November 21 in Casper. The SBCTE will receive updates on the Perkins 6 State Plan and discuss Career and Technical Education (CTE) models used across the state. The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will share information with the board on how CTE programs are supported and monitored. Following adjournment of the SBCTE meeting, the board will convene the Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) meeting. 

Upon reconvening as the SBE, educators and business representatives will share information regarding civics education, Native American standards, and financial literacy as areas of interest within the social studies standards review process. Additional information and discussion on standards will occur with the board receiving the results of informal public comments on the proposed revisions to the English Language Arts and CTE state standards. 

The board will also consider action on the revised teacher evaluation system in Fremont County School District #2.

All SBE meetings are open to the public. The meeting will be held at the University of Wyoming - Casper Campus, 125 College Drive #163, Room UU315.
