John, there's nothing like the simple joy of walking along a tree-lined path, meeting a friend beneath a shady park tree, or sharing a laugh on a favorite bench.
But these everyday adventures are still out of reach for many families in Chattanooga's Alton Park and Clifton Hills neighborhoods.

With help from Trust for Public Land supporters, that's all about to change.

Introducing the Clifton Hills Alton Park Thread Trail!
This new path will offer easy access to anyone looking for a leisurely stroll or a shortcut to fun. Take a look at our plan for the trail:

We believe joy is created outdoors. We're teaming up with TPL supporters, residents, community leaders, and cities to ensure people in Tennessee and beyond have a space to play, wander, and connect.

John, we want to hear from you. Which part of this project inspires you most?

A Bigger Story Is Taking Shape

By actively engaging neighbors through participatory design--a cooperative community-based process to create a park, trail, or greenway that reflects local identity and culture--we're ensuring residents have a place outdoors they can truly call their own.

This new vision is taking root. So far, we've already:

The Clifton Hills Alton Park Thread Trail will connect so much--parks, schools, grocery stores, local businesses, and friends.
With help from people like you, we can keep the momentum going in Chattanooga and across the country--so every community has access to the benefits of nature regardless of zip code.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Your friends at Trust for Public Land
