How many babies are conceived with IVF?

Does the stork have competition? Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is on the rise, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) accounts for more than 99% of procedures using this tech. Here’s the data on babies born via IVF, from trends over time to where it’s more common in the US. 

In 2020, 79,942 babies were born using ART, including IVF. In 2022, that number rose to 98,289 — a 23% jump in just two years. In 2022, one in every 37 babies nationwide was conceived using IVF or another assisted reproductive technology.
IVF success depends on a range of factors, including age. Women younger than 35 who underwent successful egg retrieval delivered live infants 49.7% of the time, compared to 7.7% for women older than 40.

Reasons patients used assisted reproductive technology

Patients pursue IVF or other procedures for a variety of reasons, but the most common reason is storing eggs or embryos (42.6%), according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Twenty-eight percent of patients sought ART in part because of male infertility, including low sperm count or issues with sperm function. It was the second-most common reason for perusing reproductive procedures.
In 2022, IVF was most common in Washington, DC (7.3%). Massachusetts had the highest state rate (6.2%). Less than 1% of infants born in Alabama (0.8%), Arkansas (0.8%), and Alaska (0.9%) were conceived via IVF.

Which airports have the best on-time track record?

Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel times of the year, is around the corner. If you’re flying or picking someone up from “arrivals,” soon, you’ll want to see the record on the best and worst airports and airlines for on-time performance. It turns out that 2025 hasn’t had the best on-time record, and that was before the government shutdown.

A flight is considered on time if it arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival. In spring 2025, nearly one in four domestic flights did not arrive on time — the worst second quarter for delays since 2014.

Passenger traffic is higher than pre-pandemic levels. As of late September, more than 2.4 million people on average cleared security each day, which was 9% more than in September 2019.
Salt Lake City (SLC) had the best on-time performance of the 30 busiest US airports in the first half of 2025, with 84.4% of flights arriving on time. Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), Minneapolis (MSP), and Detroit (DTW) round out the top five.
Washington Reagan (DCA) had the worst on-time record, with just 67.2% of flights arriving on time. Newark (EWR), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Philadelphia (PHL), and New York LaGuardia (LGA) followed.
Of the 21 major commercial airlines, nearly half scheduled fewer flights in the first half of 2025 than the same time period in 2019. Still, 12 of them had worse on-time performances than before the pandemic.
From April to June 2025, about 2 million commercial domestic flights were scheduled — roughly 3.5% fewer than during the same period in 2019.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provided an average of $188 a month per participant in FY 2024. But in some states, more people rely on those benefits. The states with the highest percentage of SNAP usage were: New Mexico (21.2% of the state population), Louisiana (18.4%), and Oregon (17.7%).
