The Trump administration just announced a sweeping rollback to wetlands protections. This leaves them at risk of being drained, developed and destroyed.
Wetlands are masters of absorbing carbon dioxide and excess flood waters. Without wetlands we have more climate pollution and more flooding in our communities.
Without them we can’t protect our communities or climate.
They're also critical to our economy and recreation as they are home to 40% of the world’s plant and animal species. And by filtering out water pollution, they help us keep utility bills low and protect our health.
