Cori Bush was one of our very first endorsed candidates in 2018. A
registered nurse, ordained pastor, and activist — Cori Bush represents the
people who she’s running to serve in Missouri’s 1st District.

Missouri’s 1st District encompasses St. Louis City and County, which
includes Ferguson. It’s one of the epicenters of the Black Lives Matter
movement. As a nurse, Cori treated protestors in the streets of Ferguson
after Mike Brown was murdered.

Cori Bush is a survivor of police brutality and harassment. She will work
every single day in Congress for racial equity and ending our systems of
police violence and mass incarceration.

We need more leaders on the federal level who understand what Black people

Defunding the police is about translating our values into budget
priorities and facilitating social programs that truly make our
communities safer. We need more investment in education, housing,
healthcare, jobs, and other programs that address the roots of crime, not
less.

Cori will be a fierce leader on this issue in Congress. With just over two
weeks until the primary election, we need to make sure she has the
resources to win on August 4th.
