Dear John,

Thousands from across the island of Ireland marched together on Saturday in less than sunny weather. The energy was enormous! Our goal was to be eye-catching, to be heard and to bring people together to demand an end to fossil power: the end of the influence of the fossil fuel lobby on our decision-makers, and to end of dependence on expensive and dirty fuels.

We called for a just-transition to a more sustainable future that ensures health and wellbeing, now and in the future for people in Ireland and with the countries who are most vulnerable to climate change. We did this together. I want to thank everyone who made this as big as it was and acknowledge that this was built across social movements and the power of people coming together. Let's use this momentum now to put pressure where it is needed. 

I want to remind you of two events we have coming up where you can learn more and bring your energy next.

Tuesday 18th November: you can register for our COP30 Live from Belém webinar. 

Climate Mass Lobby of TDs, 3rd December, Buswells Hotel Dublin, between 11am-8pm. Stop Climate Chaos has hosted previous lobby days where constituents (you!) get to meet your TD (the decision-makers) to ensure they are putting climate on the agenda. After the incredible turn-out on Saturday we have caught their attention. Now we get to meet them face-to-face.

We will hold an information session 'How to Lobby Your TD' with including helpful insights from Jennie Stephens, Professor of Climate Justice at the ICARUS Climate Research Centre at the National University of Ireland Maynooth, and Sibéal Devilly, Trócaire's Political Engagement Advisor, which will get you feeling confident and equipped for speaking to your TD. Seán McLoughlin, Climate Policy Campaigner from Friends of the Earth and Sara Hurley, Stop Climate Chaos Coordinator will host this session.
