Hi, John! 👋 I’m Erin Brewer, your OKDEMS Vice Chair, proudly writing this first edition of the Monday Mission, our ✨new✨ weekly roundup for Oklahoma Democrats.

We’re several hundred thousand strong and there’s LOTS going on across the state. We hope that keeping us all connected will inspire and motivate you as we collectively focus on flipping seats in 2026.

This week, the OKDEMS State Central Committee, our board of directors, approved a new mission statement. Everything we do aligns under this guide:

In light of electing more Democrats…Due to an ignominious resignation, there’s a surprise opening in HD35.

We have a real opportunity to flip a seat in this special election. Our candidate, Luke Kruse, a 19-year educator and coach, is running to improve rural infrastructure, public schools, foster care, and economic growth.

After a huge kickoff with nearly 100 guests, he’s hit the ground running knocking doors. The January or February 2026 election date won’t be set until the results of the 5-way Republican primary are known. In the meantime, support Luke with a contribution or as a volunteer. 

This weekend, our young Fellows hosted Days of Action in Logan, Lincoln, and McClain counties!

We’re training up new leaders to join campaign teams with experience recruiting, training and launching volunteers to canvass local Democrats.

This past weekend, our Fellows helped County Parties recruit and launch volunteers. Together, they knocked on over 200 doors in targeted rural Counties where we know Democrats can grow!

This relational organizing is the foundation of the “ground game” that wins elections.

We’ve been hard at work re-organizing county parties. We’re cresting 50 active counties today which includes 92% of registered Democrats in our state.
